Social and Emotional Development

Course Description:
At Little Lamb Christian Academy, we recognize that emotional and social development is just as important as academic growth, especially in the early years. Our Social and Emotional Development course provides preschoolers with the tools and strategies they need to build healthy relationships, manage their emotions, and navigate social situations with confidence. This course is grounded in the Christian principles of kindness, empathy, and respect, ensuring that children grow up with a strong sense of self and a heart for others.
Throughout the year, children engage in a variety of activities that foster social skills such as sharing, turn-taking, and cooperation. They learn to express their emotions in healthy ways and understand the feelings of others through role-playing, storytelling, and group discussions. Teachers guide children in recognizing and naming their emotions, as well as teaching them strategies to manage feelings like frustration, excitement, and sadness.
Cooperative play is an essential part of this program, as children learn to work together, solve problems, and build friendships. Guided group activities encourage teamwork and help children understand the importance of working together to accomplish tasks. Our approach also includes lessons on conflict resolution, where children learn to express their needs and solve disagreements peacefully.
The emotional and social skills taught in this course lay the groundwork for future success, both in school and in life. By fostering emotional intelligence and social competence, we help children become compassionate, confident, and caring individuals who will continue to grow in their understanding of themselves and others.
