Language and Literacy

Course Description:
Our Language and Literacy course is designed to build a strong foundation in language acquisition, communication, and early reading and writing skills. We understand that early literacy development is a crucial predictor of future academic success, which is why we provide engaging and dynamic activities that captivate young learners and ignite a love for language.
In this course, children are immersed in language-rich environments through storytelling, singing, rhyming, and engaging in meaningful conversations with peers and teachers. We believe that children learn best when they are actively involved, so every lesson includes plenty of interactive opportunities to practice listening, speaking, and understanding language. Through the reading of both fiction and non-fiction books, children are exposed to new vocabulary, sentence structure, and concepts that expand their language skills.
Phonics instruction is introduced in a playful and engaging way, allowing children to practice letter recognition, sound-letter correspondence, and early reading strategies. Rhyming activities and word games reinforce phonemic awareness, helping children become confident in their ability to decode and recognize words. Early writing skills, such as tracing, drawing, and letter formation, are integrated into the curriculum to promote fine motor development and provide a solid foundation for future writing success.
Through a combination of teacher-led instruction and independent exploration, this course fosters a strong sense of curiosity and self-confidence in language and literacy. Children leave this course not only prepared for kindergarten but also with a genuine love for reading and storytelling.
